Engineering accountable intelligence.

We are the engineers behind ToM. We build AI systems designed to keep evidence, operating limits, and human authority in view when decisions carry real consequences.

Our Story

It started with a structural engineer's question.

Before ToM was an AI framework, it was an observation about how strong systems carry load, respond to change, and remain coherent under stress.

Newport Resonance was founded in Sydney by two structural engineers with more than forty years of combined experience designing bridges, buildings, and infrastructure where integrity is non-negotiable. Founder Ken Morkaya brought more than three decades of structural engineering to the company.

That experience shaped a simple but demanding insight: minds and buildings follow the same physics. A bridge must distribute load, absorb vibration, and maintain stability as conditions change. An intelligent system influencing consequential decisions should be held to the same structural discipline.

That observation became ToM, which places approved context, available evidence, configured rules, and authority around model reasoning so a useful recommendation is not mistaken for permission to act.

We are building it for organisations where decisions carry consequences, and where “trust me” is not an acceptable control.

Structure in motion. The same ToM tree used on our homepage visualises the founding idea behind ToM: an intelligent system needs structure that can remain coherent as conditions change.

  1. 01 · Experience

    Two structural engineers

More than forty years combined across structures where failure has real consequences.

  2. 02 · Observation

Minds and buildings follow the same physics

Load, stability, disruption, and recovery became a way to think about intelligent systems.

  3. 03 · Invention

    That insight became ToM

A governed architecture around language-model reasoning, context, evidence, and authority.

  4. 04 · Mission

    Make consequential AI accountable

Keep recommendation, permission, and outcome distinct enough to inspect and govern.

What that question became

ToM puts a governed system around the language model.

Large language models can interpret information and generate capable analysis, plans, and recommendations. ToM is designed to check the approved context, available evidence, configured rules, action limits, and explicit authority that determine what may happen next.

Language model

Forms a candidate recommendation from the context it can see.

ToM

Determines what the configured workflow may permit now.

The model proposes. The configured workflow can release, constrain, hold, or escalate.

What we build for

Evidence-aware. Auditable. Governed. Resilient.

These are the four plain-language qualities we want people to recognise in a ToM-enabled decision path. They describe the job of the architecture around the model, not a claim that the model is automatically correct.

Our values

The convictions behind the architecture.

Our engineering background is not a metaphor added to the brand. It shapes how we define integrity, assurance, transparency, and responsibility.

01

Engineering Integrity

We trace the decision path, define its boundaries, and test how it behaves when information or conditions change.

02

Assurance First

Trust is earned through evidence, not assertion. We design configured workflows so authorised people can inspect what informed an outcome.

03

Transparent Intelligence

We keep model recommendations distinct from the evidence, authority, and resulting decision wherever the integration supports that record.

04

Responsible Development

We place selected policy and human-authority boundaries in the architecture, not only in an explanation written after the event.

Our vision

Make accountable action a property of the architecture.

Based in Sydney, Newport Resonance is building a multi-product intelligence platform for industries where accountability is mandatory, from rail safety assurance and housing compliance to enterprise decision intelligence. ToM is the governing architecture across that work. Our ambition is to make consequential recommendations traceable to the evidence that informed them and clearly separate from the rules and human authority that determine whether they proceed.
